Steve's training program: Steve gives each horse his full attention during the training time. He solves "problems" with horses and helps the owners understand what the horse is telling them. There are no bad horses; only misunderstood horses. 

Steve's students excel in "Horsemanship" skills due to his extensive knowledge. Each year we expand our knowledge by attending several clinics. You can never learn enough about horses, and we strive for success. Therefore, we must have knowledge.

"Looking to show"? We offer one of the top programs in teaching you the secrets to success in the show ring. Anyone can purchase a finished show horse, but not everyone can show that horse. Let us teach you the strategies and knowledge you need to be in the winners circle.

Who We Are

The Ranch:

The Rocking N Ranch was established 33 years ago by Steve & Patty Naquin. The ranch continued on after the passing of Patty in 1995.

In 2005 the ranch was incorporated making it "Rocking N Ranch LLC"; a legal partnership between Steve & Bettie. 

Steve & Bettie live together on their ranch. They have built a beautiful atmosphere for everyone to enjoy the equine world.

In November 2008 Steve & Bettie purchased a new stallion - Roobix Cube. After being started Roobix Cube will be sent to travel the world in Reining.

Steve Naquin:

Steve is co-owner (partner) and the trainer at the ranch. In addition to his horse career, Steve is a DCS operator with OxyChem where he has worked for 33 years.

Steve has 33 years of knowledge, experience and success in the show ring that he uses daily in his training program. In 1984 Steve's horse "Tough Tiffany" was the Reserve World Champion 2 yr old Halter Mare. In 1988 Steve's horse "Ram Tough" was 3rd in the 2 yr old Western pleasure ApHC World Show Furitity. In 2005 he won the South LA Saddle Club Winter Series Senior Western Pleasure buckle. These are not the only winnings for Steve. He is a strong competitor and has won numerous buckles through the years.

Steve stands strong behind his training and boarding requirements. Steve personally feeds horses in the morning and is around almost every afternoon to oversee the barn.

Bettie : 

Bettie is co-owner (partner) , secretary, bookkeeper, web design and horse show competitor. In addition to her showing career, Bettie has been the Office Manager with H & R Block for 11 years and taxprofessional for 15 years. 

In 2002 Bettie placed 3rd at Terrebonne Livestock in their Rodeo Queen's contest. This gave her the drive for the title. Therefore, in 2003 she won the title of Senior Rodeo Queen for Terrebonne Livestock Agriculture & Fair Association.  In 2004 she ran barrels in the ABRA organization on "King" and ended the season in the top 15. For 2006 she again ran ABRA on "Special" and landed in the top 5 in the green horse class. For 2007 Bettie rode in three open-local associations and competitively showed in Reining in AQHA shows. Bettie won the Senior Judged events for Terrebonne Livestock, Won the Reining buckle in Amite, and placed 2nd and 3rd in the judged events in Sugasheaux and 5th in Reining. Bettie showed Seekershine in 2008. What a pair. Winning 2 saddles and several buckles!! Seekershine aka Abbie will be bred to the ranches stallion Roobix Cube for 2009.
